Jesus it's been a while since I've blogged. The last time I blogged was days before Christmas. Now it's after New Years. Hope everyone had a great Christmas though.
A lot to cover! Weeks of eventful events to talk about STARTING WITH Christmas. I got an HDTV and it's awesome. Got gift cards so I bought a few games, and spent the day in Boston with some family. Nothing super exciting.
Why has the weather been so nice lately? A few days ago at work I was working outside without a jacket on... I've been going outside most other days with just a flimsy sweatshirt on. This is madness. It snows 8 inches in Keene two days before Halloween but coming into January I can walk outside with no jacket? I'm not complaining at all, I freaking hate snow, but this is strange.
I still can't get to bed until after 3. I keep staying up until as late as 5:30. This is becoming a problem.
I did all of my Christmas shopping in one night in just under 3 hours.
Achievement unlocked.
New personal record for me. Best part was I got good deals and got everyone really good gifts.
Kind of speaking of achievements, I got my 500th trophy on PlayStation Network. Watching all of the tutorials in Create mode on LittleBIGPlanet 2. So boring going through all of them though.
Allie got me some Magic cards and a Tommy 20 Nerf gun. You know, for when the zombie apocalypse hits Keene again this semester. Those were some of my favorite gifts because they were from her. AWWWWWWW I know.
A few days after Christmas I went to the funnest show I've ever been to. The Mighty Mighty Bosstones had their 14th annual Hometown Throwdown at the House of Blues in Boston and it was amazing. Kris decided he didn't want to go so Lindsay went with Allie and I. We got there a half hour before the show started and walked right up to the front. The guard rail was full of people, but Lindsay found a small sliver of space she fit into. After the first bad we squeezed all of us up to the very front row somehow and stayed there all night. The Have-Nots were the first band and they were sick! Very punk, reminded me of Far From Finished. Then The Slackers came on, very energetic Ska band who were great too. Kind of rare to have every opening band be good before the main performers.
A band called Suncooked came on right before the Bosstones and played one song. They dressed up as carolers and played a song called Storm Hit. Ball of Confusion by The Temptations came on once they left until the Bosstones took the stage.
Best part of the show though was that Dicky Barrett, the lead singer, acknowledged my existence. He walked over to our side of the stage while he was singing and I started to raise and lower my arms as if I was bowing down to him. He looked at me, then stood proud and just let me praise him as he smiled. HE NOTICED ME! That automatically makes any cool story you have not as cool.
Overall though the show was amazing. It was the funnest show I've been to. Not the best show, that goes to Coheed. But the funnest show. Does that make sense?
That night Allie fell asleep in my bed and it took me an hour and a half to wake her up to get her to drive home since it was like 3:30. I ended up singing MMB lyrics to her. "You gotta go! It's time for you to leave. You've worn out your welcome. It's time for you to go somewhere else! You gotta go! This is not your address, you've worn out your welcome, it's time for you to go." She thought it was cute.
I've come to realize that I have a man crush on Robert Downey Jr. Kris, Aneudys, Jake, Kevin and I watched Charlie Bartlett, amazing movie, and I realized that I loved him in that, Iron Man 1 & 2, Good Night and Good Luck, among others. He's up there on my list of man crushes with Marky Mark Wahlberg, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon.
Rule #1 of the Bartol house: Don't die.
Rule #1.A of the Bartol house: Don't be the cause of someone breaking Rule #1. (Aka don't kill anyone)
Rule #1.A.i of the Bartol house: Don't eat Jake Nutting.
Jake-ing (v) 1. The act of sucking at a video game. See "sucking" "being terrible"
Nick-ing (v) 1. The act of absolutely beasting through a video game level when all other players on your team have run out of lives and it's the last parts of the last level of the entire game therefore practically beating the game yourself. See "wrecking face" "being awesome" "showing the game who's boss"
Aneudys got Kris and I copies of inFAMOUS 2 for Christmas even though he didn't need to get me anything and I told him not to. But I got him a copy of Horrible Bosses on Blu-ray in return so we're even steven.
I've been jumping around from inFAMOUS 2 to Borderlands to God of War: Origins Collection. Those have been taking up most of my gaming time lately.
The first boss in Borderlands is named Nine-toes. (Also, he has 3 balls.) The more you know.
Two nights ago I said goodbye to my buddy, my pal, my fellow brawlski, Kris. As Kris, Kevin and I were sitting in my car outside his house saying goodbye before Kris goes back to school, his neighbor across the street decided to take a VERY powerful flashlight and shine it in my car FROM THEIR HOUSE to see if anyone was in the car. We were. It was creepy. Then the light stopped and they just stood in the window. A silhouette in their window. Watching us. at 3 in the morning.
I am Jack's colon. I give Jack cancer. I kill Jack.
You Don't Know Jack.
Good game. Played it with the broskis.
It thought me that a "mudslapper" is a slang term for a fart. The more you know.
We also beat LittleBIGPlanet and LittleBIGPlanet 2 within 3 hours of each other.
I'm ready to go back to Keene. Now.
Had to say goodbye to my Gyarados profile picture. Not Pokemon Profile Picture December anymore :(
On the 28th it was Allie and I's 18 month anniversary. I took her out to dinner at Fridays. It's hard to believe that I've been with her for a year and a half. Feels like yesterday I was talking to her on Facebook until 4am flirting with her after meeting her and just getting to know her before I saw her again. It's been the best 18 months of my life.
That's about all I got for ya. See you in another month when I have enough to talk about for a new post.
