Operation: Awe-Sauce is well on it's way to being awesome. I'm still keeping it secret, even though Kris has said what it is on a few occasions on his blog what it is. (Damn you and your big mouth, Kris...) Here's a hint: This is gonna be a project that involves more than Kris and I. Could involve many more people. Of course I'll keep you updated. There will be a Facebook group eventually, so we'll keep you updated on our blogs until that is live.
@NickGarrity "Today is gonna suck. Exam in Plant Diseases, forgot to do assignments for the class, laundry, then wasting my time in criminal justice..."
@NickGarrity "at least Modern Warfare 3 comes out tonight."
@KrisConUnK "@NickGarrity that's right, nick, think of the positives. Mw3, that is."
@NickGarrity "@KrisConUnK I'm pumped haha"
@KrisConUnK "@NickGarrity I'm pumped too, but I'm pumped full of sadness, not adrenaline..."
@NickGarrity "@KrisConUnK That is possibly the saddest tweet I've ever seen"
Kris isn't allowed to have his PS3 at college...it makes me sad. I wanna play Modern Warfare 3 with him...or even Black Ops. He's waiting to get Modern Warfare 3 for Christmas. Hell, even though Modern Warfare 3 just came out and the multiplayer trumps Black Ops, I'll still play it if Kris had his PS3 8[
Speaking of Modern Warfare 3, I went to my first midnight launch for a game on Monday night. My buddy Dave and I preordered it a few days ago. We got to GameStop around 11:20 and the store was packed inside and the line went outside reaching the doors of the Dick's Sporting Goods next door. They had a good system though. Before jumping in line, you went into the store in a second line, go to the desk, pay for the game, get your receipt and go to the back of the line. That way, you give them your receipt, then instantly get your copy and run out. It was fast and easy and we got out of GameStop at around 12:10.
I walked up to get my copy and asked the guy who was giving the game out "So this is kind of a big deal? Because I'm just here to preorder Mario Party..." and he instantly said "You know, The Black Eyed Peas Experience just came out today!" Glad the guys working there have a sense of humor even though they were just mobbed by 150 people and working past midnight.
The thing that made the midnight release worth it though was that I got a Call of Duty Elite dog tag. When Dave and I went up to pay for our copies I asked the guy at the desk how long they've had people waiting in the store and he said "We've had people sitting in the store with lawn chairs since 2 o'clock. It's been crazy. It's too bad, you missed all the giveaways though..." (They gave away a 4000 Microsoft Points card and a $100 Turtle Beach headset, along with other prizes I'm guessing...) "...and now all I have are these dog tags left." Then he tossed them to us. Midnight release = Worth it.
I'll write a whole review on the game after I beat the campaign and try out Spec Ops. If you're interested, keep checking back for that.
My Fantasy Football team is getting worse every single week. I lost to the worst team in our league. The team was 0-8-0 walking into our match up last week. My team was 3-5-0. I thought I had this in the bag. I even had more projected points than them. Turns out 2 of my players turned out to be injured so those were 2 opportunities lost. Now I'm 3-6. I'm in 9th place in the league and my chances of making the playoffs aren't looking too great. 2 teams have already clinched playoff spots. I need to make top 8! 9th place out of 12 teams doesn't sound too hard, but it's not looking good for me at all. Might need to do some major adding/dropping.
I love Spotify. It's like having Pandora and iTunes with unlimited music. I'm fulfilling my nostalgic needs by listening to a lot of 90s bands like Sugar Ray and *NSYNC, Stone Temple Pilots and The Offspring. I love being able to find songs I haven't listened to in 10+ years on Spotify or seeing one of my friends on Facebook listening to them.
I think the best part of working at Shaws is hearing old songs over the speakers that I haven't heard in a long time too. They play a lot of Smash Mouth, Rob Thomas, and a TON of Santana. My only complaint is that I love hearing these songs, but I hear them everyday. They have a small playlist that they play every day. I can only listen to Collide by Howie Day so many times.
New England, why you so crazy? This weather here is so messed up. Two weeks ago we have 8 inches of snow, it all melted within two days, yesterday morning it was around 20 degrees, and today I'm walking around campus without a sweatshirt. Who wants to go to Hampton Beach around Christmas time? I'm sure it'll be fine seeing this kind of weather happening.
Alright that's about all I got.
One last hint about Operation: Awe-Sauce

It'll be funny.
Til next time.
