FIRST! Thanksgiving. The day itself was normal. Turkey, family, blah blah blah. The real excitement happened at around 9pm that night. Kris, Erika and I went to Toys R Us to pick up my new PS3. The line wrapped around the entire complex. It took 1 hour 45 minutes to just get in, then another 20 minutes in line at the electronics department to get to the counter.
I heard in line outside that the only way to get an iPod is to get a ticket from an employee inside and the tickets were for iPods only. So I get to the counter and tell the employee what I want and she said "Do you have a ticket?" "Umm no, no one said anything to me about a ticket." She called over to another employee and said "Do PS3's need tickets?" and the other employee said yes. I got pissed and almost went off on her. "No one told me about tickets, I heard they were only for iPods!" and a woman behind me who had been behind me the entire time outside and inside stepped forward and said "He's right! He even asked and they said PS3's didn't need tickets!" I never actually asked but she was helping me out which I really appreciated. The employee looked over at the other one and she said "Just give him one."
I really liked how a complete stranger was helping me out. I spoke to her maybe once or twice in line and she stepped forward to help me out just because I stood next to her for 2 hours. I don't know her name, or who she is, but I like her she's nice. I guess the feeling of the Christmas season is already kicking in, even on Gray Thursday (It was still Thanksgiving when I got my PS3 on "Black Friday" so Erika called it Gray Thursday.)
Throughout the night I decided to try vlogging for the first time. I posted 4 videos on YouTube.
During my vacation I barely spent anytime at home. I spend the majority of my vacation, usually 12 hours out of my days, at Kris's house. Moviefest-ing and playing Call of Duty. We did go outside at one point to drive me home but that's about it. Sunlight...ew... Joking, but we went to the Holiday stroll too with everyone. Started out with 8 of us, then we met up with another group and our group of 8 turned into 24 people standing together in a group on Main St. Those 24 then divided into 4 sub-groups but still a mass of people nonetheless. The Stroll itself was awesome. Went to a church to see Kris's mom sing and surprisingly didn't burst into flames as soon as I walked in which was a plus. It was really weird seeing people from high school. Even though it's only been 5 months since graduation and 3 months since I left Nashua, it was still strange seeing them.
I feel really bad though. I went to the stroll with a group of people but left with Allie and a few other people. I didn't even get a chance to say bye to them :( It wasn't by choice I wish I could have seen them. Even though I'm seeing them all again in 3 weeks I still wish I could have said one last goodbye before we all left.
Yesterday was a terrible, terrible day. First I wake up to my parents yelling at me telling me I have so much to do. Then I find out that even though I told my boss I couldn't work, I had a 3 - 9 shift. I called Shaws and they said I am expected to show up for the shift, late or not. So Allie's mom rushed Allie and I down to Keene to get to Shaws as soon as possible. We got to Shaws at 5pm exactly, 2 minutes into the shift I find that someone replaced me. I told him to go home. He called a manager and they said for me to go home. All of that stress and panic, the rushing around and having Allie's mom drive us to Keene early just to get sent home. They didn't even tell me I had a replacement. They told me to come in for my shift, I did, then they sent me home. Probably getting written up for this.
Here's a funny story. Last night I'm in my room writing a Criminal Justice paper at around 12:15. My roommate Bobby was asleep and Jason laying in bed. All of a sudden there's a lot of hard banging on the door. I get up and open the door and 2 cops, 2 campus safety officers, 2 RAs and our RD are all standing outside my room. "...Hello..." I said. One of the cops asked if he could come in, I said yes, turned on the lights and two cops came in and I shut the door. They said they smelled marijuana. We all gave consent to the search and they searched all of our stuff. I gave consent because I had nothing to hide. I've never smoked marijuana in my life so I had no problem with them searching my stuff. After the search they took down my information and left without bothering me.
I did have a campus safety officer come in after and look directly at me and said "I know you've definitely been smoking!" And he went on for 5 minutes telling me that I should stop smoking in the room because one spark could kill everyone in the building and he "doesn't give a shit about if [I] smoked tonight" but is worried I'm going to burn down the building. His reasoning to call me out? My eyes were bloodshot. My eyes have been itchy and dry all week and I was rubbing them because I was tired when I was working on my paper. Awesome dude, you're a prick. Again, I've never smoked in my life. Honest.
This past week I went to bed around 4 - 4:30 every night just because I was never tired. My sleeping schedule is now fucked. I could not fall asleep last night. I was up until 4:30 again trying to fall asleep for 2 hours and couldn't. After my terrible day I just wanted to sleep but I couldn't. It's gonna take until middle of December when the semester is over for my sleeping schedule to get back to normal. Then it won't need to be normal. Damn.
Baggage is a terrible show. I hate Jerry Springer. But whenever it's on I can't stop watching it. Kris put it on one night and Kris, Kevin Le and I watched it on Game Show Network. We have a habit of turning on GSN and watching it for hours and hours. We watched Baggage, Lingo (hosted by Bill Engvall who I really like), Family Feud, and The $25,000 Pyramid. I love game shows. Except for women on Lingo who think that because their on TV they need to act crazy. Every time this woman won a round, she would make her hands look like guns and shoot in the air. PEW PEW PEW! After that, we didn't care if the other team won we just wanted her and her teammate to lose. Unlike on Family Feud when Cizzle C. was playing. That was the name on his name tag. Cizzle C. He was awesome.
The semester is almost over...this is great! I know when my finals are, I know when I can go home, all I need to do is tell HR at Shaws that I'm going home for a month and I'm all set! I have one more Criminal Justice class after this, no ITW classes this week, and no ITW final at all! Loving this.
Long post because I had a lot to cover. Hopefully my next posts aren't me bitching.
Til next time.
PEW PEW PEW!
